Hi, I’m Bridget Barrett.
I’m a PhD student and Roy H. Park Fellow at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a graduate affiliate with the Center for Information, Technology and Public Life (CITAP).
I’m interested in the intersection of digital marketing and politics, like how political campaigns use technologies developed for the commercial advertising industry. How do these profit-maximizing, data-aggregating technologies impact what political ads reach which users, and how might this change people’s understanding of politics?
