Hi, I’m Bridget Barrett.

I’m an incoming Assistant Professor of Advertising at the University of Colorado Boulder’s College of Media, Communication and Information.

I’m interested in new media, advertising technology, and democracy, informed by my prior professional career in digital advertising. I take up questions of platform power and influence with mixed-methods research including policy analysis, experiments, in-depth interviews, and network analysis. My academic work has been published in peer-reviewed journals (including Political Communication and Internet Policy Review) as well as in the popular press (including Slate and Lawfare).
